You can find many possibilities for activities and cultural adventures. For example:

	Fishing in the tidewater current Glimma. Hiring boats with or without a motor and fishing or enjoying some peace and quiet with the seagulls and the eagles (Hamaroy has Norway's highest stock of white-tailed eagles). Hiring canoes and enjoying the absolute peace and quiet. Hiring bikes and travelling on your own to the many beautiful small spots in the area. Well-equipped sports centre. Sea-fishing from a bigger fisherboat. Great outdoor areas with mapped walking-paths. Good opportunities to go fishing in the lakes and hunting. Gallerys and exhibitions in the close area. Hamaroyskaftet, an old landmark, is situated nearby, and ascending the top of this mountain is a popular activity. At Helland hestesenter, which is only 13 km. away, you can rent a horse and go riding on one of the many paths in the area. Unique possibility for an overnight stay in the historical house of the famous poet Knut Hamsun. He lived in this house for 6 years.
